The Technical Committee on Wearable Information Systems

Wearable computing is getting increasingly integrated in our every day life and the evolution of our community continues. In addition to the IEEE International Symposium on Wearable Computers, TC WIS co-sponsors the IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR) and a few other conferences and workshops. The TC helped initiate the IEEE Computer Society’s Pervasive Computing magazine that started in 2002. There have been special issues on Wearable Computers in this magazine and IEEE Transactions on Computers, as well as workshops/forums on wearable computing and related topics.
